SAFE?
What does SAFE actually mean? Well it stands for Student Awareness For E-safety. We needed a name that was easy to remember, but also one that had a meaning. This is why we chose the name SAFE. The word SAFE by it's self explains what we do - we help you to be SAFE online. But then when you learn what the letters actually mean... Then you truly understand what we stand for. Continuing through this page will help you to understand the real life solutions we have implemented.
Council Meeting
In 2014, The SAFE Team visited the local council hall to present what our future plans for e-safety in our school, and other schools were. We were able to present resources to the other attendees, a mixture of councillors, IT institutions and other schools.
360 Degree Safe Accreditation
As a direct result of the work that The SAFE Team was doing within Beacon Hill Academy, the school was awarded with the 360 degree safe e-safety mark in 2015.
Internal Resources
Since The SAFE Team's creation in late 2013, we have created a variety of different resources for use within Beacon Hill Academy. These included, posters, newsletters, lesson plans, video lesson resources and many more. Furthermore, as a direct result of these resources, and the other work that we have conducted throughout the school, the school saw a significant decrease in the number of internet related issues being reported. This was an amazing achievement for The SAFE Team, and one that we strive to continue.
